If your loved one with a disability or specific needs highly values independent living, our team is here to support them on the journey to match them with accommodation that meets their unique needs.

Supported Independent Living (SIL)

SIL services facilitate independent living for your loved ones by helping to develop the skills needed to live as independently as possible. We Love With Care can provide support in developing skills for managing daily tasks and personal needs to build the confidence of your loved one to live as independently as possible. If SIL is included in your loved ones NDIS plan, they also have access to 24-hour, day-to-day support with:

  • Household tasks such as cooking and cleaning
  • Accessing social and community activities
  • Personal care
  • Travel requirements to attend appointments

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)

If your loved one has significant support needs, SDA might be a better option through purpose-built homes for individuals who need specialised and accessible housing. This may include modifications to your loved one’s home to accommodate their specific needs in a way that is safe and high-quality.

If housing is listed as one of the required supports on their plan, your loved one may be eligible for NDIS SDA funding to assist with the cost of modifications to facilitate the care required.

If your loved one has been showing signs of challenging behaviour, our qualified team can work with you on developing behaviour support plans to reduce stress, anxiety and frustration. We aim to establish an understanding of why your loved one may be behaving in this way and then work towards strategies with you and your loved one to avoid this behaviour, particularly when their communication skills are affected by their disability.

Behaviour support plans can include:

  • Changes to certain elements of their environment to make them feel more comfortable and at ease
  • Enhanced community connection through activities your loved one finds fund and engaging
  • Ensuring your loved one has meaningful and positive relationships with the people around them
  • Ensuring a positive and understanding support environment
